We here at The Dandelion Appreciation Society love Dandelions. We feel the Dandelion has gotten a really bad rap and has somehow become the quintessential scapegoat for all that is considered to be a "weed" in the world of the sterile toxic green lawn.
We are here to help educate to the contrary. Dandelions are one of the most beautiful and useful plants on the planet!

Welcome!

The Dandelion Appreciation Society was formed by Naturalist Alan Russo to help educate the world to the beauty and usefulness of Taraxacum officinale, commonly known as the Dandelion.
The Dandelion is one of my favorite plants. I think part of the admiration comes from the fact that even in the face of the human onslaught to eradicated it, it still thrives and still gives us all the good that it has to offer, and all we have to do is open our eyes and take notice.
My vision of this Society is to have  Members who are passionate to share, with the rest of the world, all they know and have experienced about the Dandelion. I would like writers,  artists, ethnobotanists, historians, herbalists, photographers and everyday people to have a forum for sharing their Passion for this common plant.
I think what I am excited about most is to have members from many different cultures, different life styles, different environments and different HEMISPHERES! sharing their unique knowledge and ethnobotanical history on the Dandelion.
